Antique Furniture from the Original Chair Company

The Original Chair Company is based in Perthshire, Scotland. We source, upholster and sell all types of antique seating, including armchairs, sofas, dining chairs and chaise-longues. Using our many contacts throughout the UK we can source chairs from any period; Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco and 1950’s. Styles include Gothic, English, French and Scandinavian.

We have a real passion for classic antique designs and use contemporary styling to produce eye-catching furniture that adds a touch of elegance to any room! We pride ourselves in our creativity and original style.

Our furniture is restored using traditional methods and materials and all work is carried out to the highest standard. We offer a wide range of high quality fabrics for you to choose from. We are happy to discuss your preferences and then send fabric samples to you.

We also offer a finding service; if you are looking for a particular style of antique upholstered furniture we will source it for you.

Hand made Furniture

We also have a collection of comfortable and timeless bespoke furniture. Some of the pieces have been designed by Kate MacKenzie. The designs are classically inspired and their simplicity ensures they look as fine in a traditional setting as they do in a contemporary one. We use sumptuous fabrics and pride ourselves in quality craftsmanship. We provide a friendly and personal service and we make sure our customer care is second to none.

We also offer a bespoke service where our craftsmen can modify any of our frames to suit your individual requirements. Your comfort is as important to us as it is to you.

Bespoke Colour Finding Service

Find the right colour for you, with our bespoke colour finding service. Digital printing allows us to offer a truly personal service to our customers and to solve any interior design problems.

If you need a particular shade, perhaps to match with certain flooring or paint then, we can recolour any of our designs to suit your requirements. You can either choose the shade from our Bespoke colour Blanket, or we can match to your individual colour sample.
