At The Original Chair Company our aim is to design and produce comfortable and timeless bespoke furniture. We use sumptuous fabrics and pride ourselves in quality craftsmanship. We provide a friendly and personal service and we make sure our customer care is second to none.

Our handmade furniture is designed or selected by Kate MacKenzie. The designs are classically inspired and their simplicity ensures they look as fine in a traditional setting as they do in a contemporary one.

Our furniture is constructed by skilled craftsmen, where only the finest materials and fibres are used. We use kiln-dried birch or beech wood for the custom made frames. Joints are crafted by hand and to exact specifications. A combination of jute webbing and springs are used for optimum comfort. Our cushions can be filled with feather or alternative anti-allergy fillings. The top fabric is hand-cut to the correct pattern and then hand-finished into place on the frame.

We also offer a bespoke service where our craftsmen can modify any of our frames to suit your individual requirements. Your comfort is as important to us as it is to you.
